Captured in Tanzania, 20D @ 400mm, handheld.

The Ruppells Long-Tailed Starling is an iridescent, dark purple-blue starling, with a long, graduated tail and creamy-white eyes. The head and neck are darker, sometimes with bronzy sheen. Saxes are similar, and immature is brownish with a shorter tail.
Mostly found in pairs or small groups in acacia woodland and Savannah country.

An amazing shot on this very beautiful Starling. The light quality is superb here. A spot on exposure has rendered beautiful colors and tones, and intricate detail shown in the plumage. Outstanding seperation from the backround. Excellent camera work!
