[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Hi all
this is the same Egret than yesterday's post BUT half a wingbeat later. You can easily see the white marking on the upperwing which is diagnostic for Dimorphic Egret.
Why did I repost almost the same picture? Simply because I am learning a lot here on TN: yesterday Harry's comment on the USM was so instructive that I just had to try and see the result.
Yesterday's posting had the following USM settings:
150% strength and 0.3 pixel radius before rezising the image and 50 % with 0.3 pixel radius after rezising (I agree I am a wimp afraid of artefacts).
Today's posting has 150 % strength with 1 pixel radius before resizing and 150 % with 0.4 pixel radius after resizing. The difference is amazing and yet no disturbing artefacts visible. There is another option in the USM of CorelPaintShopPro which is named clipping: it is always set at 1 and I have no idea what it is, so still a lot to learn (any USM teachers around?).

Excellent shot with good pp work resulting in good sharpness, lighting and detail. This shot is taken at a good moment and well composed against a fine blue sky.

This is a great photo, Tom! I know this USM this is very difficult and when I fond out about Photokit sharpener everything got so much easier. Download the demo and give it a try!

I hope I will get the opportunity one day to spot this specie but my medical situation prohibits me to leave western europe at the moment.... ;o( Too bad!

Superb clarity.The details are sharp and the lighting provides excellent colour saturation.I found the notes very informative,as I am very green at PP.Thanks .
