Le rollier à longs brins est appelé ainsi en raison des plumes de sa queue qui sont très longues et effilées. Il ressemble beaucoup au rollier à poitrine lilas. On le rencontre dans les savanes boisées et forêts de toute l'Afrique équatoriale et tropicale.

The rollers are an Old World family of near passerine birds, related to the kingfishers and bee-eaters. The group gets its name from the aerial acrobatics some of these birds perform during courtship or territorial flights

Hi Patrick,
Im still alive and clicking. The face of that snake luckily did not creep into my dreams.
I really like this excellently composed shot. Thre colours are brilliant and its pose is very elegance. The clarity and the angle of light is very lovely.

Hi Patrick. This is such a beautiful looking little bird that you have taken with sharp focusing and fine detail . With somany colours it looks like a rainbow. It stands out so well from the plain Bg. well done TFS.

Après quelques jours d'absence (en raison de tous les problèmes qu'il y a eu sur TN) je suis heureuse de retrouver tes photos. Celle-ci est particulièrement belle, j'adore les couleurs tant sur l'oiseau que sur l'arrière-plan. Jolis détails sur le plumage, très belle composition, et j'aime bien aussi la pose de l'oiseau, qui se tient sur une patte. Félicitations !
