Distribution of Von der Decken's Hornbill Von der Decken's Hornbill (Tockus deckeni) is a hornbill. Hornbills are a family of tropical near-passerine birds found in East Africa, especially to the east of the Rift Valley, from Ethiopia south to Tanzania. It is mainly found in thorn scrub and similar arid habitats. It often includes Jackson's Hornbill as a subspecies. It was named after the German explorer Baron Karl Klaus von der Decken (1833-1865).

Hello Eyal,
Fantastic photo of this female hornbill. She is missing a part of her upper beak.
Excellent sharpness, details and natural colours, beautiful contrasting against the plain BG. Great POV and composition.
Regards,
Peter

Hallo Eyal
What a action pose you managed to capture here.
The details of this hornbill is brought out to its best with your camerawork. The shape of the upper part of the beak is super and grabs the attention immediately upon opening the thumbnail. This is overall a great image with super sharpness, clarity and composition. Thanks for sharing.
Best regards
Anna

Hello Eyal,

You have made a very fine photo with thsi interesting bird. The image, even somehow soft, shows well the pattern of the plumage as well as good details of the body. The blurred background creates a fine 3D effect.

Thank you for sharing,
Cristian
