| This fruit with very red seeds is used for colouring lipstick and such. Unfortunately I have forgotten the name of the fruit. I saw it in a spice plantation in Zanzibar. |

Very interesting!
What you are looking at is the seed of the achiote (Bixa orellana L.). It is used as the red food colouring in many cheeses, such as Cheddar, Red Leicester, and Brie, as well as margarine and custard powder among other things including lipstick. The natives refer to the tree as the lipstick tree and use the pulp as body paint as well as lipstick.
Good PoV on the fruit
