This is a scanned slide.

This Cheetah was one of the first animals we saw in the Serengeti. Until this visit to Tanzania we had never managed to see a cheetah - I think we saw 16 - including 6 cubs.

We were very close to her, but she was completely unconcerned.

Hi James, how beautiful this animal is and how well you captured its beauty. I love the colours on this picture, either the background with the golden herbs or the coat of the cheetah, so velvety and intense. I like her face, there's an indefinite expression, she almost looks tired. Thank you!

Francine

James...as I explained to another on this kind of high quality picture..,I might have to break your camera:-) I say this in the highest of regard and tongue in cheek humor. You sure have a portfolio of images which far surpasses my wildest imagination...and this one shot is perhaps the best of examples.
Bob

I suspect that she had already had lunch : ) ...or perhaps she was rather discriminating in her dietary preferences. You just weren't her "cup of tea" : )

I would be nervous "very close" in any case. It is a great shot and a rare opportunity... 16 of them. Wow. You were lucky but to a great extent you make your own luck. You work at it.... and it shows.

Hi James!

I'm impressed by the quality of the scan. I'm scanning a lot of pictures and know that sometimes it's tricky to get good scans. The sharpness is fine, and the colors are simply superb.

Kind regards

Markus

N.B. What kind of scanner do you use? Mine is a Nikon Coolscan 9000.

Wow!! Stunning capture James!
The lighting is fabulous!
I think the best aspect of this photo is the POV.
You have got right down to her level and this adds heaps of impact to the photo, like we're really watching her!
Very good composition as well.
Great sharpness and clarity.
Very well done,
Joe

Hi James,
Having been to the serengeti and seen cheetah there once, I know how lucky you were to have seen 16 cheetahs. This shot is fantastic. The pose is great as is the DOF.
Well Done and Merry Christmas,
