The whole valley is filled with the wilder beasts and zebras during the migration in the Serengeti. Itís hard to even know where to start or focus when photographing. Here is a group of zebras huddled together in the rain that caught my attention. I like how rich the colors become when it rain slightly, as long as itís not too heavy that you couldnít take photos. If you ever have an opportunity, go. Itís a once in life time experience. No picture will do it justice. No word can describe it.

Sorry, no camera setting info
I have all my raw files archived elsewhere

Crop to focus in the zebras,
Slight contrast and sharpen
No sepia tone applied, just the way it was, everything is yellowish brown and black and white

Lovely image of these zebra and wilder beast Way.
The composition and sense of depth is wonderful. So sharp and great DOF. They are stunning in the dry grasses. Well done! Tfs and hope you have a great weekend. Richard

Hi Way,
I do like the layered image. 1 layer zebra and 2 gnu layers:-);

Hi Way, this is an excellent composition with all of these animals together. I haven't been to Africa, and haven't seen a shot with a concentration like this of the Wilder Beasts and Zebras. I like how the zebra's are keeping together in their tight group. Depth of field is great with great sharp detail throughout and very natural looking colour.

Thanks, John

Hi Way,
Outstanding shot of this congregation of Zebras and Gnus. The wild African landscape and the natural surrounding makes this image stand out. What a super image. The depth of focus is wonderful. One gets a good feeling of depth with the complex zebra patterns in front and the wildebeests (gnus) filling the mid and background. I like the golden grass unifying the scene. It's wonderful.

A fantastic tableau, Way.
I usually find it hard to compose a shot with lots of individuals in it. You have managed beautifully, with the two distinct horizontal bands of zebras and wildebeests. One gets the feel of the herds, without feeling overwhelmed with the chaotic jumble of individuals. Great sharpness and gorgeous, gorgeous colors.
Great job and TFS. : )

Hi Way
I love the composition with 3 "layers" of animals giving the picture a 3-D effect. I agree that this is an experience to see once in one's life. Even without the migration the animals are staggering in their numbers. TFS.
Mike

Hallo Way
I enjoyed reading your story and know the feeling as per your description. I have not been to the Serengeti but we have encountered herds of buffalos on our visits to the Kruger and Ithala game reserves. You must experience it to know what you are talking about. It is an awesome feeling. You are welcome to go and read my husband's notes on our encounter with the buffalos. Don't You Dare Come Any Closer! I don't think I can add anything that has not yet been said. This is a wonderful scene of wildlife in all its glory. Sharpness, focus and composition are just great. I really enjoyed this one. Thanks for sharing.
Enjoy your day.
Anna
