Absolutely stunning. Excellent composition, sharpness, and I love how I can see the flies on her nose. Terrific!
Hi Stefan
A lovely natural shot of this lioness showing a typical image of Africa – full of flies…(chuckle)
By the way, did you know that the image of a lion's nose patterns is as unique as a humans finger prints. The little black dots on the pink area of the nose are distinctive to each individual lion. As a matter of interest, that was how I once could proof that a certain photographer who claimed to have photographed a specific male lion in the Serengeti (and told us weird and wonderful stories of his escapades in the wild) actually photographed it in a zoo in Sydney, Australia. There were other photos by other photographers on the Internet that actually showed the very same lion (with the exact nose patterns) in that zoo. The end result – BUSTED.
Anyway, this is a fine close-up portrait. Lovely sharp details and natural colours. A little bit on the shallow side with the DOF, but sufficiently so to show enough detail of the head and facial area. I like the high-lights in the eyes and the intense stare she has at whatever was drawing her attention.
Well done and TFS.
Regards
Loot

Very nice portrait of this lioness Stefan.
Seems like there are quite a lot of flies on the head, but she does'nt seem to bother about that.
Good composition, sharpness and exposure, but pitty focus is'nt fully on the eyes and therefore they seem a little soft.
Best regards and I do wish you and yours a very Happy Easter.

Hi Stefan.
I have thought a long time is the large aperture value is good thing or bad one. My conclusion for true portrait work this is very good. Nice concentrate an attention of the snout of the lion, pleasant blurriness of all other parts of the image. Lights, colours and BG are excellent. Bravo and kind regards.
Alexei.

Hello Stefan, great portrait of this beautiful Lion, very good exposure and very sharp details. I think a smaller aperture would have give you a better DOF for the eyes. A fine shot anyway, thanks!
