This lion was not shy at all, and chosed to rest among the jeeps. Picture taken in Ngorongoro Crater, an enormous crater, where lots of wild animals live.

I find this image very disturbing. Are they seriously allowed to get that close? So much for her being in the wild.

No offence is meant here, I just disagree with this kind of behaviour. These animals should be respected not hunted down for a holiday snap.

Wow ... amazing... this is what shocked me the most in Africa... wild animals are not afraid of people, there is no reason to be shy... isnt it fantastic ! Here in urban Europe ... Why they dont trust us here?

A good picture of the problem with the overcrowded parks of east Africa.
You could title it "Lion being abused by tourists/guides in African park"

Cheetas have it worse. There is no doubt we are significantly impacting the behavior of these species in this way.

Great shot, Monica.
I very much like your direct and matter of fact approach to reality.
It is good and quite funny to see story telling pictures like that.
Such is life. Thank you!
Best regards,
Peter

Hi Monica,

Amazing photos that you have, it so nice to look at these from all the locations you have been so lucky to visit. This one really made me laugh. Everyone surrounding the Lion and snapping away, quite funny with it just chilling out on the road with all that good food in sight ;-)
