Pseudocreobotra wahlbergi, from Tanzania.
(Thank you Artur, for the name correction, you were right)
I'm really crazy about mantids, and this was my first chance to photograph a flower one!!!
I always use my camera in aperture priority, always ready to shoot.
Here I used a larger aperture to avoid black and unnatural backgrounds!!!

Hola Luis,

What an incredible insect, Luis.
I have never seen a "decorated" mantid like this one.
I guess it makes fro good camouflage. It makes me think of the army fatigues.
Great POV, sharp details, and wonderful colors and patterns.

Hi Luis

a nice photo, but it's not Deroplatys desiccata ! Deroplatys spp are well known dryleaf mantids from SE Asia

however, it is from the flower mantis family (Hymenopodidae), I think it could be Pseudocreobotra wahlbergi

Impressive specimen Luis and very well depicted.
As you explain in your brief note, DOF is very appropriate allowing a very diffuse background.
Good sharpness and coloring, they complete an interesting presentation.
You don't inform the size of this Mantis.
Greetings... Ricardo
