[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The leopard (Panthera pardus) is one of the four 'big cats' of the genus Panthera. It is also the fourth largest big cat in the world with the jaguar, lion and tiger being larger. They range in size from one to just over two metres (6.5 ft) long, and generally weigh between 30 and 70 kg (65–155 lb). Some males may grow over 90 kg (200 lb). Females are typically around two-thirds the size of males. For its size, the leopard is the most powerful feline in the world next to the Jaguar. Leopards tend to be the apex predator in areas where bigger competitors do not occur, especially Lions and Tigers. This explains why the leopards in areas such as the African rainforests or Sri Lanka are larger than leopards elsewhere.
Most leopards are light tan or fawn with black rosettes, but their coat color is highly variable. There are smaller rosettes and spots on the head.

bonjour aivar
vous avez rapporté beaucoup de beaux clichés d'afrique.
en general je n'affectionne pas les photos de faunes car elles sont souvent prises dans dans les zoos, mais la en pleine nature c'est super.bravo et merci du partage.

Hi Aivar

Excellent shot. Just brilliant! Thank you!

Hi Aivar,
That is an excellent shot! Whata great scene to view in person, let alone get a great photo of it. Exposure is spot on. Colors and detail look great. Beautiful!!!!

Hi Aivar,
Excellent in the wild capture, you handled the difficult light very well here..I like the natural framing, colors, DOF, sharpness, details, and overall comp/capture up in the tree like this :)
Very well done.

Hi Aivar,
I like the colors here. There's something great about the contrast and saturation IMO. Maybe it has to do with the light conditions: late in the evening and before thunder.
I wonder how you postprocessed it too? Reduced noise?
Interesting with content. The animal itself is wonderful too and the way it looks is fabulous.

Hi Aivar.
Excellent moment you caught.Good timing and sharpness.Very good light and fine details.Perfect DOF, clear colours and also i like composition.Well done!
Thanks and greetings
Milos.

Serengeti is the mecca of wildlife and you have got yourself a trophy here, Aivar. It must have been fun to watch and shoot this graceful cat in its free environment.
A great capture from an ideal POV. Were you level with the animal in its perch in the crook of the tree? Those thorny branches around it create a genuine ambience.
Thanks for sharing it.

Hello Aivar,
The drama of nature captured in a split second, in this fine image of life and death..!
Well composed, good details... Beautiful!
Greetings,

What a catch (for both you and the leopard). Nothing can beat a picture of an animal in it's natural surroundings, acting natural behaviour. TFS!

Regards,
Pieter

Excellent shot
Brilliant composition and action.
Details are spot on. Sky on background and head in shadow usually ruins the details , but not here. Well done.
TFS

Hello Aivar,
