Hi Aivar,
This shot is almost perfect. Strangely, the feet of this starling are almost invisible and I can't work out why. Otherwise I can only admire this photo.

Hello Aivar!
What a cute posture! Was it warbling or making a call? It is a prize capture indeed.
The image is sharp and clear with natural colours. The grey BG suits the subject very well.
Thanks for sharing it and bye.

Simple yet stunning with a great subject. Good timing catching it chirp. Sharpness and colors are fantastic. DOP is good. I'm not so bothered that the tail is a little soft. Very nice.

Dear Aivar,
all your pictures are really great, but this one is not a violet-backed starling, but a Spotted Morning-Thrush = (Cichladusa guttata) Please revise your comments for it!
cheers

This is not a female Cinnyricinclus leucogaster. This is a Spotted Morning-Thrush (Cichladusa guttata)for a great number of reasons. Among the more obvious differences are the presence in this bird of a conspicuous black malar stripe, larger and pointier bill, a white supercilium, much longer tail, rufous-red rump, darker and larger spotting ventrally, whitish lores extending up across the upper bill insertion, black tarsometatarsi rather than grey, etc. In any case, good photos of this bird, and this is a good one, are certainly rarer than for the female Starling.
