| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
| The Whitefronted bee-eater is quite common all along the Southern and Eastern part of Africa, they nest in river banks, thus you frequently find them along big sand rivers like the Rufiji River in Selous. The photo was taken at about noon, the light is a bit harsh. We were on a boat safari on the river and these birds were quite tame and easily approachable. But from the boat you need a high shutterspeed, even with the camera mounted on a tripod, I threw quite a few out, this one, of the better ones. |

Awesome! Lovely colour this bird has and how well you've photographed it. BG is smooth and blurred leaving the bee-eater sharp. Nice composition.

Brilliant shot. I have been on the river at Selous and tried to photograph these birds, they are difficult - just as you get it 'right' either the boat moves or the bird flies off. To get a shot with such wonderful sharpness, good POV etc is brilliant. TFS James
