[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Hi everyone

I just got back from a trip to Tunisia today and much to my surprise i see that most of my landscape friends have resumed their activity here on TN :) Great news!

I took some time off until now, but having seen them posting some superb shots again has made me want to join along. I didn't get much time to download all the photos i took on my hard drive and i've only began processing very few...but i was really motivated :)


It was a nice trip i took with my girlfriend (so it wasn't really a photo trip) but we traveled a bit and got to see some lovely places. I hope i'll share some more sights and subjects soon.
Until then, here something classic that echoes the one constant thing along the entire trip: heat!

Hi Horia,

Welcome home. Your image does indeed convey "HEAT"! : P What are speckles in the distance? I love the wind blown sand ridge lines whatever one calls them. Nice work in a new/different environment.

I do hope there will be more landscape images posted. They were quite scarce for some time. I seem to gravitate to landscape and the larger mammals both of which are in short supply on TN.

I am back but not up to maintaining the same level of involvement as before. It takes a LOT of time/energy... at least for me.

Hello Horia

A lovely shot - grteat pov and division of the frame. The low clouds compliment the far dunes and near ripples perfectly.

The exposure is spot on too.

Hey mate,
great to see you back here too! And it looks like you've had an amazing time on more travels. I love the sense of vast space you captured here, the ripples make an excellent foreground interest and i love the 'two tone' quality of blue sky and golden sands. You can really feel the heat here!
Maybe us landscapers should try to give TN more of whats is so sorely missing...
Can;t wait to see more from your trip.
Glad your back safe, i bet you and uyour girlfriend has an amazing time.

Hello Horia, welcome back my Friend! Fantastic picture of desert. I like blue sky with few white clouds and patterns made by wind in sand. Dunes look superb. Good POV also with lots of desert in frame :-)

Salut si bine ai revenit!
Ma bucur foarte mult ca ai avut o vacanta frumoasa si asteptam noi imagini. Despre asta, ce sa zic: simpla ca de obicei, dar faina tare. Chiar daca e facut in miezul zilei, cand am auzit ca nu echiar indicat sa fotografiezi, se pare ca filtrul isi face foarte bine treaba. Bun de stiut. Apoi, ai surprins foarte frumos modelul dunelor de nisip.Imi place.

good to see you back!

I really like the minimalistic approach you have take here, which adds to the sense of remoteness and space, with the sand ripples leading through the frame adding just the right amount of foreground interest.

Hi Horia,
So I assume you came back with a great tan. Looking at that sky there wasn't much an escape to it. I hope you and your girlfriend had a great and relaxfull time.
I love the texture of the sand in the FG and how it leads you to the far flat horizon. Its simplicity made for a great shot allow great attention to the sand patterns.
