Yellow-billed Oxpecker

This species has a large range, with an estimated global Extent of Occurrence of 3,600,000 kmē. The global population size has not been quantified, but it is believed to be large as the species is described as 'common' in at least parts of its range (Feare et al. 1998). Global population trends have not been quantified; there is evidence of a population decline (Feare et al. 1998), but the species is not believed to approach the thresholds for the population decline criterion of the IUCN Red List (i.e. declining more than 30% in ten years or three generations). For these reasons, the species is evaluated as Least Concern.

Hello Ferran !
What a nice collection of birds on this buffalo (or whatever animal i is hey are sitting on). I suppose the difference we see is between male/female, as for many other birds. You got an excellent picture, with beautiful details, natural colors, wonderful composition, and a nice note, too - good to hear, for once, that an animal is NOT threatened (usuall most animals I hear of are on red List). Very well done !
Valerie.
