Long-crested Eagle
(Lophaetus occipitalis)

Photo taken on the road to Murchison Falls Nat. Park (Uganda).
It was really interesting in its prey and don't look at us (me and my girlfriend), so we get really close.
Sorry for the bad light and probably wrong exposure.

It is a bird of prey. Like all eagles, it is in the family Accipitridae.

A medium sized bird (about 55cm), found in Africa south of the Sahara, except in the arid zones. In southern Africa it is a fairly common resident in the eastern areas. It inhabits woodlands, exotic plantations, forest edges and mainly lives off rodents and shrews.

Very nice shot on this Long-crested Eagle. He looks great sitting up there against the blue sky backround. I posted a portrait of one awhile back, but we only have them incaptivity here. Would love to see one like this in the wild. Looks great!

Hi Andrea
This is a great capture and I really like the POV, which tells us a little of the circumstances under which your were able to shoot it. I wanted to see the deatils in the feathers just a little more clearly, which is why I downloaded it to my PC and took a look at it in PhotoShop CS. I have posted the results, I hope you don't mind
