[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is a Dark-capped bulbul.
I refer to this post concerning the photographer’s note.

Compared to the image in above mentioned link, this image is quite similar. Maybe two major differences to mention:
1.”wilder” background
2. view direction of the bird

About the posture or view direction…
Satish mentioned the issue in his interesting critique.
Here you will find my reply.

Thank you for looking and have a nice day.

Hi Annick

Great shot - superb composition with great lighting and detail. The green BG really makes the bulbul stand out well.

Le due immagini sono effettivamente differenti, ma entrambe molto belle e tecnicamente perfette, la scelta è soggetiva, per gli effetti di luce preferisco quest'ultima. Grazie e complimenti. Ciao Maurizio

Comparing the 2 photos I prefer this one. The catch-light in the eye is bright, and it is a lovely capture of this beauty. This lens works so well.
Cheers
Janice

Well composed, framed and post processed. As usual the DOF is perfect for the shot.

Interesting note regarding Satish's comments about your other image "Pycnonotus tricolor".

Satish probably would not say the same thing about this image. That is because there is a significant difference between the two pictures. In this one the bird is directing attention INTO the frame. In the other the bird is directing attention OUTSIDE of the frame. (By design) But that is normally considered "bad" visual design. Photography students are taught that early in their education.

I believe his comment was only intended to point that out.

That is not to say it should be done in every case. It is only to say that you usually would direct attention inward and rarely outward.

Superb shot of this beautifull Dark-capped Bulbull my dear friend Annick. TFS and also thanks for your kind comments on my 100th post.
Cheers,

Bayram

Another lovely capture of this Bulbul!
I love the composition here.
Great sharpness and detail.
Lighting is a bit harsh but you've handled it very well.
Brilliant DOF.
The disk-like seeds on the branch are a bonus!
Well done Annick!

I love the composition and catchlight in bird's eye. Excellent focus and nice blurred background.

Hello Annick , very good comp and POV , TFS and good luck .

Hallo Annick,
Groet,
Peter
