Hi Callie,
Patience always pays with birds. You prove it on the most beautiful way with this little gem. Couldn't be better, on all aspects, POV, light, motion and colors. There is also lot's of dynamics here. This colorful roller even offered you a part of his tree to finish off the composition :-). A unique image!

Great colours and nicely set off by a clean bg. Good stop-action capture.
I'll be heading home tomorrow, hopefully the weather will be better there, because we have what they call a "Nor-Easter" howling around our ears here at present. No shooting :-(

Interesting photo of flying "lilac". Personally i don't like blue skies as a background.For the contrasts of this colorful bird it's better to have a more natural background.
Nevertheless the picture is very sharp and I like the pose of this beautiful bird.
