There are approximately 109 species in the family including weavera, bishops,malimbes,quelas,fodies and widow birds.They are seed eating birds with rounded conical beaks most of which breed in Sub Sahara Africa with fewer species in tropical Asia and also Australia...

Hi Erwin. You can see from its colours where it gets its name. This is a bird i have not seen before so thanks for posting this one. You have taken this one with good feather detail and bright colours. In its natural suroundings. well taken TFS.

Hello Erwin,
A gorgeous bird shown very well with wonderful detail and excellent exposure. When I first viewed your thumbnail image I thought it was perhaps a yellow warbler, but now I can see quite a bit of difference. The large beak is a dead give-away, along with that bright orange eye.
Love the composition you chose and the natural colors you captured in this fine photo.
