Just a month before the terrible massacre of Swiss and other tourists at the temple of Hapshetsut in Luxor, we toured the upper Nile, including the Valley of the Kings. We also made a visit to the Old Cataract Hotel in Aswan, not far from the Aswan Dam.
This is the very same hotel that Agatha Christie stayed at when she wrote her bestselling mystery novel "Death on The Nile".
I likes these two palm trees which, even though they blocked us from a full view of the river, complemented the scene quite nicely. I decided not to wait for one of those boats, the falukas (spelling?), to come into the frame of the picture, but then I thought it had quite enough interest with the rocks framed quite nicely between the two palms.
Feels good. What do you think?
PS: This was taken with a Pentax autofocus camera about nine years ago, scanned into a jpeg file, resized to fit the rules. That's it. No tripod. No flash. No cropping. One river. Two palm trees. |

Hi Scott,
Very good dynamic by putting the horizon in the middle, nice catch of the boats.
TFS,
Nelson
