the ark aberdare kenya
another attempt at black to white conversion from a digital colours shot..
this is at the salt lick where the elephant families congregate in the evenings in great numbers...in the far distand in the forest the bulls tear up trees and generally holler all night long...
the herds are matriarchal..all female except for young..
they are fascinating in social behaviour and like a lot of wild animals you wish you could speak to them..and i feel likewise..the elephant i believe has the largest mammal brain...even including the whale
