Antartica in January 1993. Starting in Punta Arena we cross the Cape Horn. We had bad weather condition so everybody was happy to reach the peninsula of Antartica. We had a stop at this beautiful Paradies Bay. It was a long way to climb up this mountain ti shot this picture.

An impressive capture of the Antarctic region, Achim.
You have done a very good scan of a 14 years old picture. The depth of view is excellent and the details in the foreground quite vivid.
TFS and regards.

Hi Achim,
Just marking this wonderful post from you and will return with a proper critique later. Sorry, work pressure.

Hi Achim,
Except from the noise, the photo is wonderful. I really like the square format and the perfect composition. The fact that you had this piece of ice near you made the depth of the photo excellent.
TFS,
Niek

What a special opportunity to be able to photograph Antarctica. I like the composition a lot.. looking out to the rough sea beyond the bay. The foreground ice provides a nice focal point. I think the bright white frame fights a bit with the image. The lower right corner is the area of greatest contrast and I don't think that is where you want to viewer's eye to settle. I tried a different frame in a workshop. I would want the viewer to move into the scene and out to the sea.
