Hello!

Another landscape from Admiralty Bay (King George Island). I promised that I will tell you something about my research in Antarctica. I am working on Antarctic benthic polychaetes. I will write something about it in my next note.

Best wishes

The South Shetland Islands are a group of Antarctic islands, lying about 120 kilometres north of the Antarctic Peninsula. They have been administered as part of British Antarctic Territory since 1962. Under the Antarctic Treaty 1959, the Islands' sovereignty is neither recognized nor disputed by the signatories and they are free for use by any signatory for non-military use.

The Antarctic Treaty and related agreements, collectively called the Antarctic Treaty System or ATS, regulate international relations with respect to Antarctica, Earth's only continent without a native population. For the purposes of the treaty system, Antarctica is defined as all land and ice shelves south of the southern 60th parallel. The treaty has now been signed by 46 countries, including the now-defunct Soviet Union and the United States, and set aside Antarctica as a scientific preserve, established freedom of scientific investigation and banned military activity on that continent. This was the first arms control agreement established during the Cold War.

Nice landscape with beautiful colors.

Czesc Krzysztof! Co za krystaliczna fotografia. WSpaniale przejrzyste powietrze. Swietnie nakladajace sie nie plany. Rewelacyjna kolorystyka. Zdjecie na piatke z plusem.

Now that is the kind of picture I had been looking forward to seeing from your trip, Krzysztof.
Fantastic depth of view, colours and contrasts.
The frame gives a balanced view of water and land.

Hi Krzysztof,
impressive landscape, the subtle reflection is great and the exposure very good. I would've liked to have seen a bit more of the rock strewn foreground perhaps, but i can't really complain when the scenery is this good! Fascinating shot, well done.

Hello Krzysztof,
The attraction of this arctic scene image is subtle variations of greys, blues and whites in a perfect exposure and fine composition, not to mention the sharpness.
Tfs,
Ivan

Hello Krzysztof,

This is another great landscape from the beautiful Antarctic area! You composed the picture nicely taking advantage of the reflections of the distant mountains in the water. I would have placed the horizon line higher in the picture so that the sky has about the same height as the shore in the foreground but this is just my preference not a mistake. The clouds cast complicated patterns of shadows on the ground which make exposure difficult. However, you did very well here and didn't blow the highlights. Well done! Thank you!

With Friendly Regards,
Eddie

Hi Krzysztof,
Fantastic postcard from a place I will never manage to go (looking forward to many more). Immaculate details and the ice covered cliffs surrounding the lake make a fabulous setting. The reflection on the calm waters is so special. Excellent POV to portray this awesome atmosphere and very nicely composed. Kudos.

Rob

Perfecta imagen con una luz preciosa.
Buenos reflejos y contrastes.
Un gran trabajo.
Saludos, JL.

As long as it is only a postcard as in your title. Frankly I have nothing to compare Antarctica with:-)but I will say this...If one is going to be there, I reckon the white balance should be easy to set eh? Great job and fully noted.
Bob

Pozdrawiam serdecznie,
Jurek
