| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
| This lizard I believe is the Bengal Monitor, known locally as the "Gui Shap". We found this in the early hours of the morning, and its posture seemed as if it was doing some morning stretching. The camoflauge was extremely good, atleast to our tourist eyes. My guess is that this monitor was at least 4 feet in length, possibly more. I took this picture in the Sundarbans, the largest mangrove forest in the world. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bengal_monitor |

Nice capture of this large Monitor in the tree. I didn't know they could climb, it very interesting. Your image is a bit dark but still a interesting view.
