[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
There are countless images of fruit bats mostly hanging upside down. I spent three days getting this one image with the lighting coming from an angle that penetrated the wings/arms of the bat from above. The trees in which these bats were nesting were at least 100 feet tall and then the angle needed added distance from me to the subject. Even at full zoom the bat seemed small, however, when this 4 meg image is sized to fit the criteria of TrekNature it takes away most of the detail in the wings but you can still see some of it.
