[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This beautiful fellow is A Mandarin Duck. About 40cm long, rather silent, they nest in holes on stream or lakebeds. Appropriately named as they are residents of China although they have been introduced elsewhere. They have of course been trapped and kept as pets due to their dramaticly imperial plumage.

This was taken early morning with a tripod. The duck came right up to me and seemed interested in me. It has been sleeping in the same spot it our its friends defecate hence the white on the breast. Chances are it was probably used to being fed. Must have taken 30 shots till I got a composition I liked. I hope you like it too!

Hello Chris

The Mandarin is my favourite duck. This is not the best photo I have seen, but you can not disguise their beauty. Thanks for sharing.

Chris, I like this very much, great shot
Kathleen

Chris, Perfectly clear capture of this duck. Very good colours. POV is fine. Well shown. Murray.
