this is a fine picture of the butterfly with sharp details and with nice natural colours. The species belongs to the species-rich genus Lethe. The exact identification is
- Lethe syrcis
- Nymphalidae / Satyrinae

A simply flawless macro, Matt!

I must congratulate you for this work! The side POV really puts the beautiful wings into attention here and also creates a wonderful composition with the diagonal flower.
The DOF here is perfect (a word that i try to use often :)...but in this case it's really it) and shows the butterfly with exceptional details as well as keeps exactly the important part of the flower in focus; the BG is nicely blurred thatnks to that, too.
Brilliant colors, spot-on explosure and the fil-in flash did terrific!
