[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is the largest pelican found in China with wingspans of 175cm. Typically gregarious they are normally found in large groups such as the one I found this in with 15 buddies. The groups can be useful for cooperative hunting such as scoop-net fishing where the birds will scoop up fish with side sweeps of their enormous beaks. The Dalmation pelican is considered globally vulnerable although there are a number that wintering in Shanghai.
