Hello John,
This is an excellent macro of a lycaenid butterfly, probably Spinidasis takanonis. Fine BG and comp.
Thank you, regards, Ivan

Hello John
Superb shot, with perfect focus, sharpness, color, lightness, POV and DOF.. and everything. I love it. Perhaps it is a Club Silverline (Spindasis syama)
Best wishes
Maite

Hello John,
a superb close-up of this beautiful Lycaenide. The silver-lines, the orange spot and the four tails, everything is nicely visible. Point of view, colours and background are also perfect.
It is also possible by your excellent presentation to differentiate between two similar Spindasis species occuring in China. The one is Spindasis syama (mentioned also by Maite) and the other very similar one is
-- Spindasis mishmisensis
which is shown on your picture. S. mishmisensis differs from syama by the hindwing post-basal band which touches the orange spot which is very clearly seen in your picture (in syama this pattern elements are separated).
Admirable presentation!!
Best wishes, Peter
