[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
We got up around 04:00 for the drive up to the pass. As the sun made its way over the horizon it revealed a massive mountainrange looming in the distance. Even though weatherconditions weren't perfect it was still a spectactular sight. Fumbling with the tripod in around -20C is something I won't soon forget.

This photo is taken at a pass situated over 5000m asl, one of the higher passes in Tibet in which you can drive over. In view are the beautiful Himalayas, home to the worlds highest mountains.
To the left and partly covered in some clouds you can spot Mt Everest (8850m) and on the right side is Cho Oyu (8201m).
The Himalayas cover six nations: Tibet(China), Nepal, Bhutan, India, Pakistan and Afghanistan.
1,3 billion people live in the drainage basin of the Himalayas, depending on its water. Global warming is a major threat, and could have catastrophic consequences.

Thank you for your attention and I really hope you enjoy this photo.

Hello Johannes,
Wow... this must have been some experience; spectacular indeed!
This is not a conventional compo; you applied the rule of thirds very well, placing these spectacular mountains 1/3 from above.
Very effective triangles in the foreground and an interesting middle ground.
Excellent photography.
Thanks for sharing.

Preciosa toma Johannes y desde luego muy equilibrada. Es una de esas pocas fotos que ves de cuando en cuando que te meten en el paisaje y te hacen soñar :-)
Gran profundidad y unos preciosas colores.
Un buen trabajo !!
Tengo también dos hijos de 22 años (twins) , pero no les gusta la fotografía como a mí jajaja.

Hi Johannes,
this is a non conventional pic: light is at the back instead of being at the front.. i like this idea. Great POV and really good DOF. You have control very good the horizon line.
Great colours, very natural ones. Must be a very peacefull place.
Good work, compliments!
TFS
have a nice day
