[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This photo was taken in the aviary of Hong Kong park.

The aviary is built on a hill, so part of the walkways are actually above the trees.

The Asian Fairy Bluebird (Irena puella) is a medium-sized passerine bird.

This fairy bluebird breeds across tropical southern Asia from India and Sri Lanka east to Indonesia. This species is found in moist forest. Two or three eggs are laid in a small cup nest in a tree.

The adult Asian Fairy Bluebird is about 25cm long. The male has glossy blue upper parts, and black underparts and flight feathers. The female and first year male are entirely dull blue-green.

The Asian Fairy Bluebird eats fruit, nectar and some insects. Its call is a liquid two note glue-it.

Tech: Rotated 90 degree clockwise. Resized for TN and sharpened. Brightness -3. Contrast +6. Added black border.

Oooh, very nice capture. i like the blue and black plumage and the compositionis quite good.

A beautiful bird captured very nicely and clearly. But, personally I would like if you could remove some unnecessary descriptions from the lower part of the image and place the bird somewhere around the middle so that it would balance the entire photo.

Hi Andrew
Another nice, new one - TFS. It is a real unusual colour. Looks like it is family to the starlings - Smae size and intense eyes.
As a suggestion, crop off on bottom up to the horizontal, OOF twig, and see the change in impact. Maybe also flip horizontal, so that he looks to the left.

What an incredible bird, Andrew. The colors are just gorgeous. The top feathers might be a tad over-exposed, but that does not detract from the beauty of the bird. TFS. : )
