Amata grotei is one of the 2200 species of moths in Hong Kong.

Hello Mywong, my neighbor. The shot has two factors. a. The frotal view which is very attractive here. b.The wings forming V and then the dark BG appearing with the OOF effect on the body. Thanks for sharing. Ganesh

What a beautiful composition showing this interesting moth in beautiful metallic blue and orange colours. Good details and beautiful light.Best regards Siggi

A finely executed close up of a beautiful, feeding moth from a unique POV Man Yee, the abdominal details are not exactly sharp (for that, you need a smaller apertural opening than f/4.5) but still very nice. TFS and cheers,

My Wong, another beautiful capture on the flora around Hong Kong. I agree with "matatur" that a smaller lens opening would have created a better field of focus. I'm sure you let your camera do all the work for you set on automatic, and no doubt it looked great on your digital display. On shots like this, IF YOU HAVE TIME, which most times you don't, set your aperture on f/8 or f/11 and let the shutter speed take care of itself. There was plenty of light here, so a slower shutter speed would have produced a much sharper photograph all around. But, if you didn't have time to reset your manual settings, you still captured a wonderful photo here.
