Intreseting facts about the butterflies:

some species of butterfly use front pair of legs to taste food.

The Monarch butterflies can fly as fast as 30 miles per hour .

A butterfly’s entire life cycle can last between 2-8 months, depending on the species.

Butterflies will hang from the undersides of leaves, or will find crevices in between rocks and other objects to squeeze into during bad weather.

Butterflies do not have lungs, they breathe through their bodies!

There are more than 100,000 species of known butterflies and moths so far. This makes them the second largest order of insects.

The Western pygmy blue is the smallest butterfly, and is only 1/8 of an inch long.

Female butterflies are often larger than the males.

The antennae of male moths are usually more elaborate than that of the females.

Like reptiles, butterflies are ectothermic .

Hi Pankaj

What a lovely specimen of this "Blue Tiger" you have captured here.

The set up of the composition is great with excellent positioning of the flower and the insect. While the amazing colours of the butterfly makes it stand out so well against the dark BG the same has unfortunately caused some of the details of the antennae and the legs to disappear though. The conclusion thus is that a somewhat lighter coloured BG would have been optimal for this shot, but if these things were so easy to order on demand we all would only shoot perfect shots with no complaints from anybody (chuckle). Anyway, the details are nice and sharp, the colours are well saturated, and the exposure was well controlled.

Good work and TFS.
Regards
Loot

Hi Pankaj,
this sure is a very blue coloured little butterfly and the detail in it is wonderful. The morning cloak butterfly here in Canada beats out the life expectancy of the average butterfly as they can live for 11 months and on warm winter days can be seen feeding on tree sap even while there is snow on the ground.Your note is first rate and very interesting,I learned something today.I thank you for putting up this beautiful butterfly and great note. Bob

Bonjour Pankaj,

Hi Pankaj

I love the pose and colours here. I think this is a very artistic short and really like the dark BG as it helps bring out the colours.

Hi Pankaj,
an outstanding shot of this beautiful butterfly.
Super sharp and crisp with excellent clarity.
Brilliant composition and POV showing all the beautiful patterns on the wing.
Well done,
Joe

Hello Pankaj,

A very good composition of the Blue Tiger Butterfly! It is indeed a perfect profile portrait. I like the profile silhouette which stands out from the plain and dark background. It was a good idea to include the Lantana flower as it improves both composition and colors. The contrast is very well adjusted and the orange and blur color tones help a lot emphasizing the subject. The light was also well controlled! Great job! Thank you!

With Friendly Regards,
Eddie

Hi Pankaj,
Another beauty for us!
Lovely color detail,POV, comp., and light.
The dark Bg sets the butterfly off well but is it natural or computer generated? Just curious.

Excels in all areas. Done by a competent photographer. I certainly hope you do something else with this collection of yours...it is worthy and all so well done.
Bob

The richness and variety of colors in your image are quite beautiful. I love the simplicity of your composition and the uncluttered dark background resulting from the flash is effective in setting off the subject.
