the POV in this shot is wonderful!
It clearly shows the amazing patterns and colours on this butterfly's under-wing.

Another striking black BG that causes the colours to stand out.

Ah !! this one is perfect.. Love the colors, composition, sharpness and everything about this. In my opinion, you could have used the background color (dark green) for the border (instead of black).. But that is purely my opinion..

I know i'm a little late but please accept my wishes of happy Divali to you, too, my friend ;)
This is a splendid macro shot to celebrate such a nice event with.
A terrific side POV of this Peacock pansy (i think) shows exactly how beautiful are the under wings of this butterfly. All those patterns and colors are vibrant and so well brought out by the contrast with the BG. Speaking of contrast, i really feel that there is another contrast in this photo that is equaly or even more attractive - between the body and head of the butterfly on one side and the vivid orage flower on the other. Very strong colors there ehnanced so well by the good usage of flash...just wonderful!
Also, very nice sharp details everywhere, a gorgeous contour shape of the butterfly and his wings from the side and an interesting composition complete this lovely post.
