Hi Pankaj,
You captured this lovely dove with great timing and nice focus. Splendid coloration and composition. I like also POV and frame. It looks like our Streptopelia senegalensis in coloration of plumage. But a bit different dove species.

I enjoyed reading your note on how desperate you were to start shooting. I know exactly how you feel, as I feel like that daily. I am new to photography and every opportunity I get to take a photo of anything I use, but my o my sometimes it just happen that there is nothing to shoot at. I like the pose in which you have captured this Mourning Dove, one claw in the air. It is a pretty bird with some beautiful colours. I especially like the rustic brown colour of the feathers on its chest. This is a lovely close, with fine detail. The glint in the eye adds a special touch to this photo. Thanks for sharing.

A beautiful mourning dove. There are about a dozen of them in my yard as I write. I love the pose with the raised leg.Good timing to get this. Beautiful natural colors and nice sharp details. The background is wonderful.

Pankaj,
We saw a few of these in Hawaii, Maui. They must have also been "imported" from India when the US government took the Indian "Maina" there. Many beautiful birds have been
"stolen" from India, e.g. Peacock and the like.
Anyway, GREAT photography work.
Who is "howard" that you mentioned in "one for the road"???

Dear Pankaj,

All details about the image is great,except for the ID. It is exactly a laughing dove (Stigmatopelia senegalensis). The species you mentined is American only. I wondered what reference led you to the ID?
