My 4th post in 4 days ( i have become quite active as earlier in last one year i have never been consistent like this and i am enjoying it) is Mottled Emigrant also known as Catopsilia pyranthe. It is a medium sized butterfly of the Family Pieridae found commonly in India.

I found this one hiding in the bushes of rose plant at my roof garden, I have observed that the butterflies take shelter in the evening and are there till early morning untill & unless disturbed. The Motteled Emigrant prefers hiding in green bushes.

This shot has been taken with Nikon D 80 along with Sigma 70/300 lens, handheld, resizing and framing has been done for final presentation.

Your critiques and comment are most welcome.

I had a field day with Mottled and other Emigrants this evening at my son's place, Pankaj. They are everywhere now-a-days in Noida.
This is a well composed shot with fine details on the wings. I also like the very clear rendition of the eye and the curled up probocis(or is it porboscis?).
Well done and thanks.

Hello Pankaj,
What a fine composition showing the Mottled Emigrant hanging under a leaf. Great focus and sharp details and I always like to see that proboscis curled up! :-) A very nice dark background too. Well done!
Many thanks and regards, Ulla

Hi Pankaj,
you got this emigrant very well, which have good contrast by including the leaves. yes, they roost in the night like birds in secluded places. you could have given some more space, the brilliant green of the emigrant bit too much for the eye. tfs.

Hello Panakj, I shot something like this today and I only know the kind of body exercise and posture I had to shoot this picture. Good clarity and nice sharp focus. Superb view and well done. TFS Ganesh

Hello Pankaj,

Lovely detailed shot of the butterfly hanging upsidedown! The eyes and antennae show up particularly well.
Together with the green leaves, this makes a fine composition!

Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Hi Pankaj,

A fascinating pov with this butterfly appearing to hang from the leaf. Wonderful macro with great details of the wings and the veins on the leaf. The contrast between the pale Emigrant and the leaf and background is marvelous.

Jane

Hello Pankaj. What is amazing here is that you are paired with the same equipment as I do. Tact sharp focus with pleasing upside down perch. I like the compound eye. Well done and best regards. Jusni

Dear Pankaj,
Excellent side profile of Catopsilia pyranthe. The image is quite sharp with great details of compound eye, antenna & coiled proboscis. TFS.
Regards-Subhash

I have a special liking for this shade of green. And it blends well with the background in a truly natural way....and you are right about your consistency as I mentioned yesterday, but don't let that stop you from grabbing a landscape shot from time to time...'tis after all how we learn..

Hello Pankaj!

So, Sigma is quite good lens, isn't it :-) Butterfly is sharp, detailed and well composed with leaf. Yellow colour looks good - it is hard to not overexposure it, but you did great job here.

Dear Pankaj, very nice delicate, texture and the hue, well brought out. well done. TFS. with best regards.vab.

Esta toma representa un buen ejemplo de encuadre centrando el motivo a pesar de esa pose tan complicada. No solo eso, ya que como siempre no descuidas los demás aspectos técnicos y creas un artístico conjunto. Bonitos colores.
Saludos.
