The lantana bushes are blooming again with my wish to start shooting butterflies for this season. So far in last couple of days i got some good captures.

This one is the first of them.

My small butterfly garden which i have made specially for butterflies have visitors. This season i was also sucessfull in observing the complete production cycle of common lime butterfly.

The uniform bg is the result of the wall behind the lantana bush, This time i have tried a different framing style with border of the same color.

This is Hasora chromus also known as Common Banded Awl. This butterfly belongs to the family Hesperiidae which is found in the Indian subcontinent, Southeast Asia and Australia.

Scientific classification
Kingdom: Animalia
Phylum: Arthropoda
Class: Insecta
Order: Lepidoptera
Family: Hesperiidae
Subfamily: Coeliadinae
Genus: Hasora
Species: H. chromus

Hello Pankaj,
Excellent captur of this Skipper, the Banded Awl, with fine sharpness and skillful use of flash to illuminate the butterfly without producing the night-time effect. I like the POV in this closed-wing pose and the scomposition on the lantana is superb.
I am curious as to what made the perfectly neutral grey BG: a wall?
TFS this beauty,
Ivan

Nice job of framing this one Pankaj. You are doing some experimenting with different things eh? Very good. Your image quality has not lost anything.

Hello Pankaj,
What a beautiful capture of this Skipper! I love the colours and the metallic bronze sheen brought out by the flash. Nice pose too on the dainty flowers and against a fine smooth grey background. Well done!
TFS and regards, Ulla

Hello Pankaj,

Very good picture of this skipper. Good POV, DOF and sharpness. I like the big eye and the irridescent hair on its head.
