Hi Pankaj,
I have been waiting for this .....wondering when you would post the rest of it as it happened....Luck favoured you indeed but more than that you made a wonderful effort to present this in a very documentative yet interesting manner. The drama as it unfolds get nastier but as you rightly said that's nature....superb PoV showing excellent details, fine lighting and commentable efforts to present these "unforgettable moments" in collage. I love your narrative of the scenes.Scenes one, two, six, seven and nine are very well crafted.
Thanks for sharing this wonderful piece of work and i am proud to take this and show off in my "Unforgettable" theme.
Cheers
Silpa
P.S:-Good Luck with those mating -post mating shots:)

A story well told through continuous images, Pankaj.
All the images are very well captured and leave nothing to imagination.
You were indeed fortunate to be on the spot to record the entire sequence.
In terms of documentation, this is a priceless collage for which the TN community will remain grateful to you.
I wish you all the best in your quest for the ultimate documentation -- the female Mantis eating up the male after mating. In fact, if you come across this event, film it if you have a video recording option on your DSLR.
Regards.

Hi Pankaj!
Your collage is fine, don't worry, and exceeds all expectations concerning its content. You tell and show us a dramatic story where the technical aspect becomes secondary. Moreover, if the collage could be done in a different way, the pictures are of high quality, and finally that's important. It's a fascinating and very instructive posting!
Kind regards
Markus

Hi Pankaj,
I was waiting for your follow-up but never expected anything like this. This collage is even better than a video because we can spend time examining each picture. Each shot is action packed with fine details and lovely colors. I'm not sure I could have watched what was happening to the dragonfly as it took place. Thank you for recording this natural event for us. You did a superb job.

Hi My Friend Pankaj, Good Morning!
What a great collage showing the feeding behaviour of a praying mantis. Each image is sharp and well presented. Impressive in both educational and also scientific documentation.
Thanks for sharing this great compound image. Of course it is going to my favorites.

Hello Pankaj,
Very nice good picture series. Excellent sharpness, light and colours. I wonder how long a mantis can live without feeding. I know that is quite long for spiders but for mantis I have no idea. I have to look for it.
Very well done,
Cheers,

Panakj, vignesh kept asking me whether you had the what happened next. This is superb. NO need to have skills and the picture is enough for the story. I read in one of our TN friend 'Bill Houghton" web page " God Creates the picture, I only snap the shutter". Superb one and sometimes I also feel to go in an unknown place with 10GB card and just click click clik. Well done again

Hy Pankaj
I was expecting that the mantis eat the dragonfly, but I was not expected that the dragonfly to be so "stupid" to return on mantis neck.
Very good collage and congratulations for your patience.

Hi Pankaj
A splendid collage and story!
This is indeed what happens in the natural world and you shouldn't be sorry for the dragonfly not even a bit. I like to look at it this way: the mantis chose to be less beautiful in shape and in colors but more successful in hunting :)
Anyway, your shots are all impeccable and show the process superbly and with many details. Your notes here are also on the top and complete this amazing story you have witnessed. My compliments, once more!
Bravo and TFS

Hi Pankaj,
This is by far the most creative and detailed collage I have come across and you have captured each and every happening so impressively. Hats off to your skill and perseverance. I can almost visualise the entire drama by looking at your images. Simply outstanding. I can expect nothing less than this - you set such high standards.
TFS this superb collage.

Hi Pankaj!
It's very interesting and also a bit hard to see this at the same time, I understand what you felt there I think. Still it was much worth capturing as it's not everyday to see a complete action like this. I think your collage ended up very well, my only suggestion for the next time is maybe you should try putting the pics in a line (like 1 or 2 rows), making it a panoramic format available for large posting. It would be interesting to see these wonderful frames in bigger format. But it's just an idea.
TFS this wonderful action,
Best regards,
Andor

Hello Pankaj,
WOW!!! What a wonderful description!!! I'm very impressed by this sequence!!!
What a fool dragonfly: her mother never told him to not land on a mantis!!!
Those images are excellent and describe vey well the mantid behavior and patience!
Congratulations for having see that and get the patience to capture the scenes on pixels!
A big THANK YOU for sharing this amazing sequence!

Hello Pankaj,
Sorry I missed the end of the story! At first I wondered how it managed to grab the dragonfly off its back but, as you say, they often return to the same place and I expect the Mantis was prepared this time! This is a great presentation showing the whole event very nicely! Lovely details and colours!
Many thanks and cheers, Ulla

Your collage looks good to me. It is an interesting collection of very sharp images. We have an expression.."to look at the world through rose colored glasses" That's what I do because nature can be pretty cruel. It can be summed up in the word, "survival".
Thanks for the effort you put into this.
