[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This capture is from the archives, I had posted some images from this session of photography almost 15 months back here. Today when i was looking through the old photographs i liked this for posting.

This butterfly is Danaid Eggfly - Hypolimnas misipus, Linnaeus.

Description

A medium sized Nymphalid with a wingspan of 65-75 mm. The sexes are dissimilar. Both sexes have distinctly wavy wing margins.

The males are sooty black above with two oval white patches, one on the forewing and the other on the hind wing. There is another smaller white patch below the apex of the forewing. All of them are surrounded by a gorgeous iridescent royal blue band which also extends partway towards the center of the white patches. The undersides are a beautiful rusty brown with white bands towards the center of each wing.

The female has two forms, both of which are excellent mimics of the Plain Tiger. The common form is tawny brown with a black apex and a narrow white band below it. The rest of the wing is relatively unmarked except for a black spot towards the front margin of the hind wing near vein . The underside has two black spots on the hind wing

Hi Pankaj
What I like here the most is the nice blured background with nice looking OOF flowers. And of course the butterfly is beautiful

this one is a pretty one, yet a little older, but we can still see the wonderful design and the colours. I love the blue parts, amazing.
Thanks and greetings

Bonjour Pankaj, what a nice shot of this beautiful butterfly. The wings seem torn at the tip, showing us beauty and life wearing us out sometimes. Many thanks, it's superb,

Francine

Done in your uniquely high quality style of frame, composition and clarity...both in image and in notes...

Hi Pankaj.
Superb scene created by stems and beautiful butterfly. DOF is great and combination of sharp image of the main subject and blurriness of the BG is great. Colours are amazing too. Bravo.
Alexei.

Excellent capture of this Danaid Eggfly with good composition and POV, sharp details, nice colours. It is just a pity that this beautiful butterfly is a bit worn. The pictre is excellent.

Hi Pankaj!

This is wildlife pure: the butterfly is not "perfect" and reflects reality in a wonderful picture held in delightful colours and so well composed. From my point of view, the fact that the butterfly has suffered adds to the value of the picture.

Kind regards

Markus

Like the contrast between colourful butterfly and white flower.
Best wishes,
Achim
