This butterfly is Zebra Blue which is a small and beautiful butterfly from blue family. The patterns on the wings of this butterfly resembles to pattern of Zebra and hence it gets the name of Zebra Blue. I found this one engaged in nud sipping in the garden in front of my house on sunday morning.

Tomorrow we will celebrate HOLI. Its festival of colours. I wish all the ferinds a vety happy holi.

Information from wikipedia about holi:

Holi (referred to as Phagwa in Bhojpuri), also called the Festival of Colours, is a popular Hindu spring festival observed in India, Suriname, Guyana, Trinidad, the UK and Nepal. In West Bengal, it is known as Dolyatra (Doljatra) or Boshonto Utsav ("spring festival").

The main day, Holi, also known as Dhulheti, Dhulandi or Dhulendi, is celebrated by people throwing coloured powder and coloured water at each other. Bonfires are lit the day before, also known as Holika Dahan (death of Holika) or Chhoti Holi (little Holi).

The bonfires are lit in memory of the miraculous escape that young Prahlad had when Demoness Holika, sister of Hiranyakashipu, carried him into the fire. Holika was burnt but Prahlad, a staunch devotee of Lord Vishnu, escaped without any injuries due to his unshakable devotion. Holika Dahan is referred to as Kama Dahanam in Andhra Pradesh.

Hi Pankaj.
Refined work. I like all at the picture. First of all it is amazing colour palette of the shot. Second is brilliant DOF and perfect sharpness/details of the cute insect. Third it is very attractive a bit back POV. Lights and exposure of the image are spot on too. And at last it is touching wishes to all friends. Many thanks for the fine post and kind regards.
Alexei.

Hello Pankaj !
Great picture of this poor buttefly - I wonder what happened to his wings... But he's still beautiful, I like his markings. Thewarm colors of the picture are a real pleasure for the eye, on such a grey and rainy day as we have in France. Details, composition, POV and pose of the bird are excellent, too. Very well done !
Valérie.

Hello Pankaj,
Thank you for the wishes.I hope you and your family had a great Holi.

The first thing that grabbed my attention about this image was the spotlight like focus that has been created in the composition. It is indeed beautiful the way you have the little blue well lit up while the environment of soft brown earth is steeped in darkness only to be illuminated slightly by the light falling on the subject.

The butterfly itself despite its tattered wings an image of beauty and elegance.I have photographed this one, but not so much in a good composition as this.I like the use of DoF that puts the whole subject in excellent clarity and sharpness.

Thanks for sharing and cheers
Silpa

Hi Pankaj!

You could make a poster of this picture and present it at your Holi celebration. Your picture IS a festival of colours, as many others in your gallery. It's a pleasure to look at it, the colours of the earth suit the ones of the butterfly at best.

Thank you for your advice concerning the forum... I will try to forget it as quick as possible...

Kind regards

Markus
