[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is for all my friends of Treknature.

It has been a association of almost three years for me (I will be completing three years in september)and I have got many wonderful friends across the globe through this site.

I thank you all for all the guidence and support here at Treknature. You have made me a better person and a better photographer too.

This shot has been taken with Nikon D 80 along with Sigma 150 mm macro lens. I tried quite hard to get a sharper image but couldnt get any better then this as the insect was moving continuously.

I dont have any idea about the insect photographed. I will appreciate if someone can identify this for me.

Your critiques and comments are most welcome.

About International Friendship day (Wikipedia)

International Friendship Day celebrations take place on the first Sunday of August every year.

The tradition of dedicating a day in honor of friends began in US in 1935. In 1935 American Govt had killed a person on 1st Saturday of Aug. The next day his friend committed suicide in his memory.

Since then American Govt declared 1st Sunday of Aug as friendship day.

Gradually the festival gained popularity and today Friendship Day is celebrated in large number of countries. On this day people spend time with their friends and express love for them.

Exchange of Friendship Day Gifts like flowers, cards and wrist bands is a popular tradition of this occasion

Hallo Pankaj
Thanks for sharing, such a colourful and friendly image. It is a most appropriate theme and subject you have chosen for this day of friendship. Thanks also for your friendship that you share amongst fellow members on the site. This is such an interesting looking creature, with striking and prominent features. The selection of colours on the insect is really eye-catching, but the blueish eye is fascinating to look at. The movement caught in the wings is great and all around photography in this image is tops. It was a pleasure to stop by such a beauty. Best regards.
Anna

Hello Pankaj,
A superb in-flight capture of this species of Hummingbird Hawk-moth taken from a great POV while hovering over the lantana flowers with fine sharpness and colours.
I wish you a Happy Friendship Day too and I shall be celebrating my three years on TN very soon!
Thanks and all the best,
Ivan

Hello Pankaj,
Its a hawk-moth of the Genus Macroglossum, but I do not know the species. If you can get to consult a copy of D'Abrera's Sphingidae Mundi then you might get a better ID. You have used the flash well and got a very sharp details except, of course, for the "hummingbird" wings. Thanks.
Alan

Hi Pankaj

This is the best ever picture of a fluttering Hummingbird Moth on TN, Pankaj, and you deserve full accolades for it. I wonder how you froze this restless creature at shutter speed 1/125. It is a charisma of some sorts.
Almost the entire Moth is in perfectly sharp focus. The details and colours are matchless and the composition is immaculate and beautiful.
Well done and thanks for your greetings on that auspicious day. Needless to say, I cherish your friendship and goodwill.
Best regards,
Ram

Precioso trabajo Pankaj !!!

Hi Pankaj,
this is a very hard capture. The motion blur is well seen and such a beautiful technique.
The rest of the body is pin sharp.
Lovely presentation.
