[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The Oriental Garden Lizard (Calotes versicolor) is an agamid lizard found widely distributed in Asia. It has also been introduced in many parts of the world. It is an insectivore and the male gets a bright red throat in the breeding season leading to a common incorrect name of Bloodsucker.

Fill flash has turned the BG totally dark which suits the subject very well, Pankaj.
Now we see only this Garden Lizard with very sharp focus and details on it.
I see this lizard everywhere I go. It is a very calm and unperturbed creature.
You have got its eye beautifully.
Well done and TFS.

Bonjour Pankaj, a beautiful portrait of this lizard, I like the black background with the lizard's head suspended into the frame. It is perfectly lit and the colours come out beautiful. Great work, thank you!

Francine

What in the heck do you do? Do you carry a piece of black velvet around for a small backdrop...and probably not but it is a photographers secret I learned 30 years or so ago...a small 3x33 foot black velvet cloth. Expensive but doesn't reflect...works great...and it is light to carry as well..just a notion for you or anyone...because this is what a good picture taken with my suggestion would look like:-)

Very, very sharp photo, Pankaj!
We can see a huuuge amount of detail here.
Excellent use of flash to render the BG black.
Great composition.
Superb exposure.

Very well done,

Joe

p.s would you recommed the sigma 70-300mm? My parents have just got a DSLR and are looking for a not too expensive lens that would be great for wildlife photography but also for taking shots of the famly.
Thanks for writing in my guestbook too... it means a lot! :-)
