I like this picture very much because first the butterfly is marvellous and second it's taken in a very natural environment. This time the background is not blurred as usually and this keeps the natural effect.

Great lens, great eye...It appears as if you were on top of it...and such a giant butterfly. I hope to see some in this family this year. I will be paying much closer attention. the pond leaves...very intriguing...You make them appear as large grape leaves...very nicely done.

Pankaj, I just browsed through your portfolio and came across this gem. My, what a fantastic capture of this phenomenally beautiful butterfly!
I am amazed that such unique species is available to be shot in your state.
Telling you the truth, I haven't seen a wide range of butterfly species in my part of India (including Himachal) since my return home last year. I guess one has to go hunting for them in the wilderness.
The capture is just brilliant in every respect.
What a pity I had missed this beauty earlier!
