This shot has been taken at Gormada reserve forest. I took this shot parrelel to the position of spider as the web was on a hight of 5 ft approx. This offerred me a nice frontal pov and the long legs were visible clearly.

The Giant wood spider known as The Nephila Maculata is found in many contries including Japan, India & Australia. This spider is a big spider found in the forests. The legs of this spider are very long. The front legs are about twice as long as the spider. The abdomen area is black with yellow bands which look quite attractive.

This spider creates one of the strongest web and is spread in square meter area.

Pin-point focusing and a great DOF.
Superb colours and great flash-work.
Excellent composition as well.

Hello Pankaj,
Fine capture of a Wood Spider from a POV that makes it look menacing, especially if it is large. The sharpness of the spider and the blurred natural BG make it stand out well.
Thanks for sharing this one,
Ivan

Very good capture - very well composed. Good color and detail, too! Bravo! Cheers, Klaus

This one is shaped a bit and without yellow I would have been looking twice to make sure it was not a black widow...which it is obviously not...but similar with colour exception...Very sharp and clear. I think I can appreciate spiders when they look mean and aggressive..I feel more in control...Thanks for sharing Pankaj! And thanks for your kind words on my video!
Bob

Hi Pankaj,
an excellent POV and perfect DOF, the web and Spider are both nicely in focus with good detail and a very nice background - well my friend!
Paul

Hi Pankaj!

This is a beautiful spider shown in a beautiful picture. I like the unity of the color tones very much. The point of view - as you said at about the hight of the net - allowed you to take an undistorted perspective that adds to the value of the picture.

Kind regards

Markus

Hi Pankai.
You have pictured amazing and very impressive almost black spider-monster. Its pose and posture of the legs are stunning as well as the terrific colourful and perfectly smoothed BG. Tiny web is reflected so skillfully as tine main subject. My greetings and TFS.
Alexei.

Hello Pankaj,
So just how BIG is this guy? He does look HUGE, great POV you had, glad you didn't get stuck in his Web!! :o)

In my erratic appearances on TN, I missed out this lovely capture of a Wood Spider, Pankaj.
It is a great shot from the front and gives a clear idea of this insect.
Nice colours and composition.
Thanks and take care.

Hello Pankaj !
My worst nightmare is looking at me ! :-) But well, I must admit itlooks great. The spider is very impressive. Excellent details, natural colors, beautiful composition and POV, splendid blurred BG to make the spider stand out, and I also like tht you have captured some parts of the web. Lovely colors on the BG. I would not have wanted to take this picture, even if I appreciate looking at it ! :-) Very well done !
Valerie.
