I'm glad you took this image from your recent archives as it is of a Shieldbug that I have never seen before. You present it with fine sharpness and with good use of flash to show good colouring and BG. Pleasing composition too.

Jabardust POV, Pankaj. It feels as if I am looking down at a huge bug; the macro of it is that good!
You have identified the genus correctly in my opinion. Which specific species it is can be suggested by an expert only.
The image has turned out to be technically outstanding; you are using the macro function of your 70-300mm very effectively.

I don't think I've seen this bright little Bug before! A lovely composition showing it very sharply on the grass and the red colour is beautiful. Excellent sharpness and a fine background to make it stand out.

Excellent capture of this bug. Great POV, DOF and focus. Very good use on the flash with a good lighting of the head of the insect. Superb colours.

A lovely capture of this shield bug. Excellent DOF and POF. The excellent sharp details even show the texture on this insect's back. Good colour rendition and a lovely composition with the subject and the leave running through the diagonal of the image.

It is so funny in a way...so many of these shield creatures and I was only just aware of them about the year 2000. I do not remember them from my childhood...but you know and you also know how to fill a frame yes?
