I have shot this aerial view to highlight the beauty of natural harbor of Port Blair facing SE direction. This is my second photograph of Natural Harbor which also shows beautiful township of Port Blair ahead. Partly shaven area in the land is airstrip of Port Blair which is North-South. A small portion of Ross Island is seen in the left side of this bird's eye view.

Port Blair, the Natural Harbor :
Large stretches of white sand and coral reefs teeming with marine life epitomize the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, a tropical archipelago of about 300 islands, only 39 of them are inhabited. These islands are truly a tropical paradise, having remained untouched by the modern world.
The harbor town of Port Blair is the main entry point to the islands as well as the state capital, and lies on the east-coast of South Andaman island. The town’s name comes from a young British officer named Archibald Blair. In 1788 he discovered this splendid natural harbor and named it Port Cornwallis. Later generations renamed it in his honor. |
