I have shot this seascape from Ross Island with greater view of harbor entrance to Port Blair's natural harbor heading left. All ships move through the clear water of this channel only. Far at distance one could appreciate the highest peak of Port Blair, known as Mount Harriot (well seen beyond light house situated at North Point).

Mount Harriot was the summer headquarters of the Chief Commissioner during British colonial rule. It is the highest peak around Port Blair and offers a breath taking view of sunsets and sunrises (& also to view islands situated at distance like Havelock & Neil). It is also situated at 365 meters above sea level and it is an ideal spot for picnic and trekking. Beware of leeches & take necessary precautions.

Ranjan, my friend!
You're so lucky that you travel so much!
I love the sheer colours of the water!Excellent composition!

I am assuming the depth here is taken by the colour of the waters....Very good distinction. The darker blue perhaps the much deeper and I say much because it shows a sharp drop off...It would be good to see a rhythmical of this image. Leeches I can deal with as long as they have a good purpose in medicinal but you would know more about that.

Hello Subhash,
(I have always called you that, but please correct me if you are known as Ranjan).
Another fine view from your Andaman trip. The composition with the shallow water colour tones changing to dark colours of the deep water with the forested peak of Mt Harriot in the distance is great.
An attractive image and thanks for posting it,
Best regards,
Ivan

Hi Ranjan,

Andaman is indeed a place to visit. I must plan for it soon! Very nice picture of the clear blue sea. Nice to see the shades changing to Blue and there after the greeenary! Awesome view!

Hi Mr. Subhash,
A beautiful seascape. Very beautiful colors. Very good composition. Thanks a lot for sharing.

Hallo Subhash
Layer upon layer of beauty unfolds in front of me looking at this image. The variation of different colours of blue in this image is astounding, and although one can easily pass this image and think "ah, just another picture of the ocean" this is really a very special photograph. The blue mountains far in the distance, the blue sky and the water of the sea is just magic to look at and reminds oneself that blue is not just blue. It is really beautiful. Looking at this scenario has a soothing effect on the whole being. Thanks for sharing. Best regards.
Anna
