I was away from TN for quite some time now - work pressure and intermittent internet problems are the prime reasons. I know I have missed a lot wonderful posts from everyone but promise to go back and see each one of them at leisure. In the meanwhile I present another shot of this strange looking bug (I had previously posted the same bug on 10.04.2007). At that time too getting the perfect ID was difficult for a lot of members.......I request again to properly identify it to all our learned members. The snout really looks strange and the effects of flash light has given this picture a different look. Shot taken hand-held, hope everyone like it.

Hello Sumon,

Welcome back. What a strange bug! Good POV, DOF and sharpness. Good lighting and colours. I have the impression that it is a nymph. Hope you will find someone to identify this bug.
Cheers,
Mariki

My, what curious insects you find in your area, Sumon!
This one is truly something new on TN.
The shape and the red colour of this bug are quite interesting and brought forth so very well through your very crisp image.
You mean its ID is still pending?
Hope someone comes forward this time.
All the best.

Ciao Sumon,
bellissima composizione con un uso sapiente del flash che ha creato colori molto contrastati e BG scuro che esalta i colori brillanti di questo strano insetto, ottime la nitidezza e la definizione dei dettagli.
TFS.

Hi Sumon,

Good to see a post from you. Needless to say, I have no idea what this bug is! It is unusual looking and you are right, the snout is odd. The eyes are interesting too. I like the shape and the colors. Will have to check back to see if someone comes up with the ID.

Hello Sumonda, Nice to see your pictures. Lovely shot and what a cute looking insect. Excellent shot. Ganesh

Hi Mana!

As you probably can imagine, I can't help you with the ID... As far as the picture is concerned, it results from your notes that the principal aim was not a technically and artistically perfect picture, but the search for the right ID or rather the scientific aspect. Under these circumstances your picture fulfils the requirements. Moreover, the part with the beetle itself is superb.

Now, I just hope that someone here on TN can help you with the ID!

Kind regards

Markus

A fine dorsal POV macro of a Hemiptera bug nymph. The colours and contrast with the green stem is striking in this well-composed image up to your usual technical high standard.

Hello Sumon,

What an interesting insect shown in so beautifull colors. I am sorry I can not help you with ID but I can tell the photo creats a good feeling to the viewer. The contrast between insect plant beneath and background is strong but well looking. Due to the good composition viewer will focus on the main subject.

Thank you for sharing,
Cristian

Hello Mana! I didn't know you were back or didn't realize it, well, what a pleasure to welcome you back! And this is indeed a very fine picture, it seems it's coming out of chaos or dark places. I like the effect of the flash, the bright light on the insect is perfect and contrasts with the dark background. Thank you!
