Excellent shot of this beautiful dragonfly. Composition, DOF and sharpness are great. Beautiful detail. The colours of the abdomen and the wings are wonderful.

i've never seen one of these beofre, what a beautiful looking Dragonfly. Your DOF IS narrow but very well placed and the exposure and detail are first class, well done.

I see silica and/or sand...and you mention they like being near water so I wonder if you are close some way to a beach. this sand gives the image an almost symbolic etheral quality. The defining boundaries between all things are blurred, as in fuzzy logic which is a math I have studied a bit and enjoy seeing in imagery.

Fine capture of a Ditch Jewel taken from a nice frontal POV that shows the raised abdomen in hot weather position. Nice PP work to confine the sharpening thatmakes it show up well.

A true jewel of the ditch arent they?!
I like the way you ahve got the details on it and the colours are quite natural with clarity and sharpness.This is abit of camouflage as well I guess, as one would have ahd to look carefully to see it in that kind of a location where the sand itself has tinges of the jewel's colours.Well done.
