This is the second of the series and here we see these tiny beings at the mercy of the big waves. The high tide waves really were playing havoc and got me worried. As these small ones approached the sea the big waves would engulf them, toss them, fling them and drag them with brute force. And as the waves went back they left back these tumbled up hatchlings and lovely patterns on the golden sands. We can even see a small one running to meet the sea.

For details on Olive Ridley turtles see my earlier posting. Shot taken hand-held in early morning sunlight. Hope everyone enjoy this posting as my earlier one.

Hi Sumon,

What an absolutely stunning image, the detail and colours in the sand is just beautiful, the sea looks amazing and these two little Olive Ridley turtles are starting on the journey of a lifetime, I've seen turtles lay eggs up in Bundaberg but haven’t as yet seen hatchlings this is a wonderful image congratulations.

Cheers Rick :)

Hi Sumon,
great second chapter in this story you tell/show us! The light on the sand and foam is beautiful and the little Turtles looks so helpless against the power of the sea. They also look quite exposed too, do they not fall victim to predators? Or is that still to come in the story??
Either way this is great, thanks so much for sharing these moments.
Paul

Hmmmmmm

Dada..Nice landscape depicting the little one.The track looks splendid.Full marks from me.

A very super idea for a series....only done before by pros and usually on film...super sot using light like this...A fascinating journey in the life of this creature...

Hi Sumon!

A touching image and a touching text. The atmosphere is marvellous, somehow in contradiction with the dramatic events on the beach. The fight for life, the will to survive is overcast by a romantic and peaceful atmosphere.

How strange nature sometimes is. You have reflected this duality in a delicate manner!

Kind regards

Markus

Hello Sumon,
A superb capture of two turtle hatlings struggling to get to the sea. The morning light is great and the composition with the surf coming in over the wet sand, marvellous.
A very fine image and thanks for sharing it,
Best wishes, Ivan

Hello Sumon,
Very beautiful photo. The golden light is amazing. Great sharpness and patterns in the sand. I know how it feels to let these turtles free and to see that they ran into the see. We had the same experience in Sri Lanca. It's a wonderful feeling. An uncertain future.
Regards,
Peter

Hello Sumon,

Very nice picture of these turtles going to the the sea. Very good sharpness. I like very much the light. We can see how small these turtles are compared to the size of the dross bubbles. Superb colours.

Hi Sumon,
what a fantastic photo!
The warm, raking light has cast some wonderful shadows giving the photo depth and adding striking contrast.
Very good composition.
Excellent detail.
That little turtle looks so vulnerable and brave.
One for my favourites!
Very well done Sumon!

Mana dada,First one to remark. Feels great. Which part of the beach this shot belongs to. The composition is amazing and also the story expressed by you. I can visualise the scene and your enjoyment. Sharp picture and POV is amazing. Ganesh Hope you dont mind smiley tmrw

Cool :)
I think the early light has produced nice colortones and added some depth/texture to this flat plane..I like the two shown on their first journey headed into the surf line, it makes for a good comp. The visible trail in the sand rt adds well also.
Great post Sumon!
Howard

Hi Sumon,
Another fantastic capture from the series.Yes, this has to be an important journey and the way you have composed this frame, there is an emotional tug in this one, the lighting creates a farwell mood, a slight sinking feeling as you watch them go away. And to think of what is going on in their minds, as they speed up to embarce the feel of their natural habitat, a trepidation, an excitement of getting home safe...
The moment is wonderful and the surging surf and the trail left by the young one is well cpatured with a great PoV.Congratulations!.....to my favourites...
TFS & Cheers

Hi Sumon, fascinating composition with turtles and sea, fantastic light, very well done, have a good week end, ciao Silvio

hi Sumon,
très bonne série de ces instants qu'on ne voient qu'à la télévision, ça doit être palpitant d'assister à cet événement. J'aime beaucoup celle-ci car c'est le moment décisif, la mise à l'eau et l'aventure.
